Story
The story of Salo's Pumpkin Weeks began in 2018, when Rannikon Puutarha entrepreneur Esa Rannikko came up with the idea for the first Pumpkin Park on his own pumpkin field. The event attracted more people every year and other events and campaigns began to develop around it. In order to get as much good as possible from Kurpitsapuisto to the whole city, the local entrepreneur association (Salon Alueen Yrittäjät, formerly Halikon Yrittäjät) was asked to take responsibility for coordinating the wider event. Kurpitsaviikot was born, which the association has built for years mainly with the help of workers. The city of Salo has been involved in supporting the event stronger every year.
Today, Rannikon Kurpitsapuisto attracts up to 100,000 guests to Salo over the course of a couple of weeks. The Pumpkin Weeks organized around the park offer visitors a wide range of things to do and experience in the entire Salo area.
